The Paul Eldridge Mentorship Program

Empowering New Personnel & Civil Service Officers Through Guidance, Growth, and Connection!

The Paul Eldridge Mentorship Program aims to support and guide new Personnel and Civil Service Officers that are members of NYSAPCSO. The program provides a mentor, resources, and networking opportunities to ensure the professional growth and success of new officers. Most importantly, to build a culture of service, collaboration, and excellence across all New York State local civil service agencies.

Benefits of the Mentorship Program

Personalized Guidance – Tailored support to address challenges and goals.
Professional Development – Opportunities for learning and growth through interactions with seasoned Personnel and Civil Service professionals.
Networking – Build a network of peers and experienced professionals.
Career Advancement – Gain insights and advice that can help advance one’s career.

Mentorship Assignments

New Personnel and Civil Service Officers are paired with experienced mentors based on their specific needs and areas of expertise. Mentors and mentees will be matched based on geographical location, similar job responsibilities, and shared interests.

Duration – The mentorship relation is designed to last for one (1) year, with the option for mentees to continue informally after the program ends.

Commitment and Expectations – Mentors and mentees will discuss expectations upon introductions. This includes determining what days and times would work best for ongoing support and to discuss progress, challenges, and goals. Both parties would determined if the regular one-on-one meetings should be in-person, virtual, or over the phone based on preference and availability.

Networking Events

NYSAPCSO hosts an annual conference for training and networking among peers, vendors, and New York State Department of Civil Service staff. The annual conference assists in fostering strong relationships and provides in-person opportunities to share experiences and gain practical knowledge.
